Lucas and his friends would often play basketball or go to the gym. They are all sports minded and would often compete in the sports that they like. There will be a basketball tournament next month and they are all excited about it. Lucas is planning to build muscles because he wanted to look brawny in his basketball shirt. He also wanted to look mean to his competitors.

Pride and Prejudice, A Great Romantic Comedy

Pride and Prejudice, A Great Romantic Comedy

Posted by Jerold Austin

My favorite TV miniseries is Pride and Prejudice. I watched it for the first time on the BBC via DIRECTV in Texas several years ago. They played the show in installments, and I loved every one of them. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite classic novels, and the miniseries was very true to Jane Austen's characters. It's basically a story about relationships and women who desperately want to marry. It reminds me of how far women have come in the past 200 years. We no longer have to view marriage as our main objective in life.

The actors in Pride and Prejudice were all superb. Darcy was played by Colin Firth, and Jennifer Ehle played Lizzie. The story is set in the English countryside and in London during the early 19th century. I loved seeing the beautiful costumes worn by the actors, particularly the women. I also feel that Pride and Prejudice is great as a romantic comedy. It is extremely romantic because Lizzie and Darcy get to know each other before they fall in love, which is unlike the contrived romances in most Hollywood movies. This miniseries is also very funny, and I loved the performance of the actress who plays Mrs. Bennet. Her voice and mannerisms made her performance one of the best of the entire series.

document management

September 27, 2010

Helen’s boss had ordered her to create a document management in his computer. Her boss would often complain about missing documents or too much paper on his desk. Helen would do it later after she finishes all her work. It’s nearly lunch break and she would go out and pick up the food that she ordered for her boss. Helen is an Executive Assistant, a job that she learned to love.

Relieve boredom by those who wait

September 24, 2010

A couple of years ago, I helped the company I was working for get all the necessary government permits it needed to jump start its operations. I went from one local government office to another. I also went from bank to bank to different offices to talk to vendors. Do you know what I learned from that period and all those shuffling from one office to another? That a commercial satellite tv at the lobby of the office helps a lot in relieving the boredom of those who are waiting to be called in!

If you have people waiting in your lobby all the time, you might want to check out the direct sat commercial direct tv offer at DIRECTSATTV. You can liven things up and relieve the boredom of the people waiting for their turn to avail of your services. The commercial satellite tv can be put up in clinics, lobbies of buildings, payment centers, or even in pantries of big companies for the employees to enjoy during break time.

Wait time becomes enjoyable if there's a tv to entertain the people. Call DirectTV now at 800.595.9981 and avail of the packages and special offers for public viewing, private viewing and business viewing. Each kind of viewing has a different offer, specifically designed for the needs of the target market. Check out DirectSATTV.com now for more details on each offering. The Mini-Series That Began All Mini-Series, Rich Man, Poor Man

The Mini-Series That Began All Mini-Series, Rich Man, Poor Man

Guest post from: Jerald Hammond

Rich Man, Poor Man was the mini-series that provided the "bar" all other mini-series attempted to reach. Based on the 1970 Irwin Shaw novel of the same name, it was television's first attempt to serialize acclaimed literary works. Rich Man, Poor Man however, was the first, and in my opinion, still the best. I was thrilled recently when, flipping through channels, I found the series on my tv from www.ExpertSatellite.com I enjoyed it nearly as much as when the original aired.

Utilizing an excellent cast with an interesting mix of veterans (Edward Asner, Dorothy McGuire, Ray Milland, Robert Reed, Bill Bixby (who also directed), Norman Fell, Van Johnson and Murray Hamilton), along with young up-and-coming performers such as Peter Strauss, Nick Nolte, Susan Blakely and Talia Shire, the series followed the Jordache family from the end of World War II through the late 1960's.

Peter Strauss provided just the right combination of naivete and ambition in his portrayal of the eager, hard-working Rudy Jordache, the "Rich Man" of the Jordache brothers. His ascendancy through college, young adulthood, the business world and eventually politics entertwined with romance and dealing with the societal changes of the era is never less than engrossing. Nick Nolte as Tom, the "Poor Man," literally crackles on screen as the mercurial, rebellious black sheep son. Edward Asner as the hard-working, stoic patriarch, Axel Jordache, won an Emmy Award for his performance, one of 23 nominations the series received.

My sister-in-law called the other day to ask me about wrinkle filler. She wanted to know what is the best wrinkle solution for her. I told her to search the web because I'm not using one. After asking about that, we chatted for a bit then she mentioned about her son's pool party. She's inviting us to join the party and she really wanted to see my kids. I told her that my kids will be thrilled when they hear about the party. She told me that she's looking forward to seeing me and my two pretty girls.

My cousin visited me last Friday and she brought some beautiful women's dresses that she ordered online. It's for me and my sister so after a few hours we headed to my sister's house. My sister is thrilled with the new dress and after she tried it on, she cooked yummy spaghetti with meatballs and crepe with mango. We chatted while we were eating and we talked about our families and work. It's been a while since the last time we bonded with my cousin and it felt so good to laugh with her again.

How to Keep Your Knitting from Curling at the Edges

How to Keep Your Knitting from Curling at the Edges

Thanks for the post, Kathy Shelton

Stockinette stitch is probably the most common knitting stitch there is. This stitch creates a fabric that is smooth on one side and bumpy on the other. It's easy enough to make this stitch. You just knit one row and purl the next, over and over. The only trouble with this stitch is that it curls at the edges.

For some knitting projects, the curling doesn't matter, or is worked into the design. For example, if you want a sweater to have a rolled bottom edge, all you have to do is knit the sweater in Stockinette stitch and the edge will naturally want to curl toward the smooth side at the bottom. However, if you don't want your stockinette stitch projects to curl at the edges, you'll have to do something to stop it.

One of the most commonly used techniques to stop curling is adding ribbing to the bottom of the sweater as well as the cuffs and collar. Since the knit one, purl one or knit two, purl two pattern of the ribbing doesn't curl, adding an inch or two of ribbing at the edge of the garment is enough to make the sweater lay flat like it should.

Another method that is often used on square items such as afghans and knit dishcloths is to add an edging. Usually, the edging is crocheted, so if you haven't learned to crochet yet it is a good hobby to pick up that will complement your knitting hobby well. Otherwise, you should use your DIRECT TV internet bundle to try to find knitting patterns that incorporate ribbing or other features that prevent rolling.

Movie Nights With My Husband

Movie Nights With My Husband

The Author of this post is Velma Baird

I love going to the movies with my husband, though we often argue over which movie to see. I love chick flicks and dramas. He always wants to see action movies and comedies. We go to the theater about once a month. We've recently started to take turns on picking the movie. We saw his movie last week, so next time I get to choose.

Movie nights provide a source of pure escapism for us. Before we leave the house, I always set our security alarm from securitychoice.com and drop the kids off with the babysitter down the street. I'm one of those people who becomes completely absorbed in the story. I forget about my personal problems and it's nice to focus on someone else's life for a few hours. The best movie we've seen recently was Star Trek. We saw it Athens, Georgia last year. My husband loves to remind me that he picked it and that I rolled my eyes because I thought I wouldn't enjoy it. I have to admit that sometimes he hits the nail on the head with his choices.

Sony VAIO

September 3, 2010

I was browsing for laptops when Sony VAIO had caught my eyes. I love the color pink and when I saw the pink laptop, I go bananas. My husband is telling me to buy a new one instead of using the old laptop and would complain about it. And he’s right about that. I told him that I found ordered a pink VAIO. He just laugh when I said pink.

A Night At The Movies With The Kids

A Night At The Movies With The Kids

The article written by Alonso Kramer

One of my favorite things to do with my children is to take them to the movies. It's a great way to spend a night out on the town and there always seems to be a lot of great movies to see. Whether the movie is animated, live action or 3D, my daughters, ages 4 and 7, can't wait for our next movie night together.

We always take a look in the newspaper to find out what the best movies in the area are that are age appropriate and then the girls get to take turns picking a movie. We like to go to the movies at least twice a month, but if there is a big release that we have been waiting for, we will go more often.

Every movie night starts the same way at our house. We eat dinner, the girls put on some make up, they like to think they are older than they really are, and then we set our Adt cellguardhome security alarm as we head to our van. Once we get to the movie theater the girls always want to load up on pop, popcorn and candy before we head to our seats. If we make it to our seats before the previews starts it's a good night for us, and then we sit back and enjoy the show.
