Let's not allow injury sideline us and weaken our bones. After walking slowly for about three minutes, stop to perform a two-minute stretching routine. I have here tips on proper stretching that I got from a health magazine and I hope this would help a lot. Hold each stretch for 10-20 seconds and repeat after your walk.
1. Stand at arm's length on a wall./tree, lean into the surface. Place one leg forward with knee bent while keeping the other leg back with knee straight and heel down. Then stretch out the back leg.
2. Put one foot on a bench. Lean forward until you feel a slight pull while keeping the back straight.
3. Stand straight, bend one knee behind to grasp the ankle and pull the heel toward the butt.
4. Sit on a bench and hug your knees.
5. Stand straight, clasp your fingers bahind you. Slowly lift your arms up and back.
