Junk Food as School Snack?

July 16, 2008

Typically, Children prefer junk food to nutritious food. Parents sometimes yield to their kid’s hankering for unhealthy packed munchies hoping that this will entice them to eat more. And since these types of food are package conveniently, busy moms can be lured to serve them as school snacks. But while junk foods are flavorful and easy to prepare, as much as possible, they should not be included in your kid’s lunchbox.

You are so right. There are so many nutritious alternatives that can be given in place of junk food. I'm not so strict as to not allow any junk food but not everyday. Parents can set up a "Fun Friday" and only allow a junk food type snack on that day.
