Child Labor
June 5, 2008
It is against the Philippine law to hire children below 5-18 years old. A very common and widespread use of child labor is when you see children in the streets begging for money or even pushing their carts full of junks so that they can sell it at the junkshop in order for them buy rice or bread for their family. Some uses these young children to work as laborers in the farmland especially during harvest. I pity them because instead of playing with their friends or even attending school . at their young age they already assumed the responsibility of providing money for their family.
