Teen-age Pregnancy
May 9, 2008 | | |Marriage triggered by unwanted or unexpected pregnancy becomes common nowadays. This is true to adults as well as to teen-agers. Teen-age pregnancy usually happens because of lack of guidance by the parents. In the Philippines for instance, most parents are out of the country to serve as overseas workers. No one can watch over their children who are then forced to go their own ways. Some children cannot even finish schooling. Early pregnancy takes place even though most teen-agers are not prepared to be parents in mostly all aspects. I hope something can be done to prevent these unfortunate events.
This is really true nowadays. It is still parents who must guide their children, and it is a pity that some parents overlook this problem.
However, I think this problem is still the responsibility of all of us. From school, barkadas, government and media including bloggers.
This is because people find it more interesting to talk about politics and showbiz instead of how to have a happy family.

this is so true...i do know a lot of teens that got pregnant before they reached 21 - much to my astonishment! although it shouldn't have been a surprise to me...
this can also be attributed to the fact that birth control for teens are still considered taboo here in the philippines...

The advent of pornographic movies,the media,the society...ah,this problem is unstoppable and i agree with you that something should be done.It is in the family that discipline starts and parents have great impact on the behaviour of their kids. Ah,parenting is not easy!!!

Just a follow up comment. I do not believe that we must call it unwanted pregnancy because they were enjoying while they were doing it.
