Filipinos Are Alcoholic?

May 12, 2008

I don’t know if this is true. But one thing for sure alcoholic drinks are always present in the diet of Filipinos especially if there is a special occasion. Filipinos likes to experiment with their drinks like the mixing the brandy with powder juice. For rum they mix it with beer and coca-cola. Speaking of beer try our San Miguel beer and of course the ever extra strong beer.

I don't think the constant presence of alcohol in social gatherings or everyday life would mean that Filipinos are alcoholics. Then that would mean that every race is stricken with the sickness called alcoholism.

Filipinos would only be alcoholics if and when they depend on alcohol to get them going through the day. And this would only apply to a certain percentage.

I agree with tahn
Europeans usually have alcoholic beverages served with their meals...does that mean their alcoholic, too?
I think you mean that Filipinos usually have drinking sessions with their friends and in parties. That's the time where beer and the like appear. This may be because the Philippines are not very strict when it comes to DUI. Many Filipinos in the Philippines still drink a lot and drive after...which makes it pretty easy to indulge in drinking...a lot.
