Vessels of Life
February 21, 2008
In the United States, there are close to half a million human embryos being kept frozen in fertility clinics. Some are stored until such time that Mommy and Daddy decide to have another kid. But what about the others? I shudder at the thought of what happens to these embryos should their parents decide they don’t need another child. Will the unused babies be kept longer, hoping that some childless couple or a single woman who wants to get pregnant the “un-natural way” might want him? Will they be used as secret ingredients to new cosmetic products? When I was younger, I thought crime could only be committed against grown up people, never children. But as the world ages, violations against human life seem to be getting worse.
