Teaching Adults

February 22, 2008

Teaching adults with language training program is vastly different from teaching children. First of all, adults don’t take to being told what to do. They have sufficient life experience to warrant being called knowledgeable. So, while a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing, teachers of adults make use of whatever the students already know to use in class. So, instead of hammering them with grammar rules into their heads, they will be allowed to converse and write more often. Then the teachers would bring out the mistakes and ask them to correct themselves. Being give the chance to right your own wrongs is empowering.
