People Power

February 25, 2008

EDSA I marks the fall of the dictatorship of the late President Ferdinand Marcos of the Philippines . Today, February 25, 2008 the country is celebrating its 22nd anniversary of the fall of Marcos by the so-called People Power Revolution. Rallies are being held through out manila. Some are demanding Gloria M. Arroyo’s resignation as president and some are there to support her administration. I believe that removing a president through people power had already been abused or perverted. First they throw out Marcos and later Joseph Estrada. And now they wanted to remove Arroyo.

Is still there meaning to People Power for the Filipinos or have we already forgotten its true message? I am really disillusioned with our country’s political system today.

yes indeed some would say what is the meaning of People Power today. the political system in the country is messing our nation. i did not witnessed EDSA I but I supported EDSA II. It is really sad to know that it's the only alternative for the Filipino people to correct those people in power who ABUSES their power. GMA is guilty of the NBN ZTE deal- that only shows that she hid interest of few influential people and almost putting more burdden to the FIlipino people.

thanks for the visit and I hope you can vote for me for blog of the week contest. i will truly appreciate your support. :)
